Surfacing the Rim by Venessa Kimball

Another fantastic book from Venessa Kimball.
5 out of 5

Surfacing the Rim started right where Piercing the Fold left off. It consumed me so much I read it in one day. I felt as if I was living within the book. It is such a one of the kind storyline that has a little bit of something for everyone. During this installment Jesca is faced with a mission that in order to complete, she has to overcome many difficulties. You learn a lot about the history of the copula and family secrets as well. The suspense and details in it were fabulous. I loved how the book reminded me of the suspense in the House of Night Series and the love triangle in Twilight.  Ahh love triangle team Nate or team Xander??..... I can't choose. Nate is so sweet and protective, yet Xander is just as sweet and the passion between Jes and him is like fire. I am still undecided, but leaning towards Xander! I am so looking forward to the third book and hope all of you get to experience this wonderful series!

Favorite Excerpt from the book:

"  "Even if this started because of what they chose for us, it's not why I am choosing to be here with you now." I sigh and make sure she can't get in my thoughts. God, if you only knew what you mean to me. It's so much more than this link. With her body molded to mine. I feel our hearts beat seperately, and then they quicken in time with one other until they are synchronized. "

Piercing the Fold by Venessa Kimball

Venessa Kimball did an excellent job writing this first book to her series.
I give it 5 out 5!

I loved this book from beginning to end! It is about a young woman that begins experiencing dizzy spells and hearing the thoughts of others. When she is confronted by her professor an unexpected bond is automatically formed. Later she finds out she is destined to be a guardian and is sent away to train. While training she meets gorgeous Nate and learns they are connected to one another. Once placed in her territory she is forced to leave him behind and is confronted with danger. A mysterious boy catches her attention and the story takes a turn. With love, suspense, and details like no other this story is beautifully written. Towards the end I caught myself  getting chills and not wanting to put it down.  Between the descriptions of scenery to the character personalities, the author did a great job at painting pictures in your mind.  I was consumed by the storyline. I loved the scientific parts and that she tied religion in as well. Definitely recommend this to all readers.

My Favorite Excerpt from the book:

"   Nate is breathing heavily with his hands on his hips. His eyes are burning deep into mine. "What thoughts?" Don't think about it. Nate moves toward me. "Too late." He cups both of his hands around my face so delicately. I can't take my eyes off his face, his eyes, his lips. I could have easily slipped away, but didn't. He brushes a few hairs off of my face that had fallen loose on my run. I feel myself breathing faster, not from running. I put my hand over his.  "

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

I write this review with tears in my eyes. What an excellent read. When I first began the story I was confused, but by the middle I was absolutely sucked in. Melanie was taken over by a host/alien from another planet and has to struggle with watching the host live her life. They butt heads but by the end have a wonderful friendship. The pictures Stephanie Meyer painted in my head from the cave to the characters were incredible ... There is love, suspense, and sadness throughout this book. The ending was a huge shock and left me speechless. I would give it 5 out 5 for sure!

Gabriel's Rapture by Sylvain Reynard

If you liked "Fifty Shades of Grey"
I recommend this 5 out of 5

Throughout this book you'll learn about a famous historical romance and a romance between a professor and his student. Gabriel and Julia met when she was seventeen, yet he doesn't remember. When she shows up to her class and sees him as her professor feelings arise immediately. Through the struggles of school laws, ex's, and an aborted baby they continue to stay united. Gabriel feels he can fix his problems with sex, while Julia urges him to talk to someone. They travel to all different places and build a classic love story. Towards the end though things take a turn for the worse and they are seperated by legal obligations. Will they get back together? .... you'll have to read to find out. Remember this is the second book in the series.

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

4.5 out 5 for this angel series

This is another great YA romance series. It is about angels who come to earth to help save a town from danger. None of them expected to become tied to the mortals... but they do and one even finds herself in a love affair. The siblings do not agree with her choices but they soon grow to accept it. There is suspense, love, and even a historical story in this series. Highly recommend it!

Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

Every book in this series gets a 5 out of 5

This is one of my favorite YA series. I think I may have even liked it more than Twilight. It's about a young girl who falls for a vampire. They embark on a romance like no other. They have dates in the cemetary, and accomplish missions together. It is a really cute fun series. The Author paints amazing pictures into your brain and has you questioning if you should turn goth. Must Read!

The Blood Coven Vampires by Mari Mancusi

A 5 out of 5 for this series

Another YA vampire series worth checking out.
These books are about a preppy sister and goth sister who become closer thanks to vampires. This series is packed with vampires, werewolves, vampire hunters, high school drama, and blogging. An enjoyable read with a romance like no other. The one sister becomes a Vampire Queens and the other a Vampire Hunter. Read to find out how they handle their new positions.

The Missing by Shiloh Walker

An amazing 5 out of 5 Suspense

This read is more of a mature romance with suspense. It is about a girl (Taige) that falls in love with a boy (Cullen) while he is on vacation in her hometown. They continue the romance for a couple summers, but then a death causes a stir. Taige has a gift that she uses to help the police find missing children, so when Cullen shows up and asks for her help she agrees. During their search their connection starts to grow even deeper. But do they ever get back together?
I loved this book!

Reflected in You by Sylvia Day

4 out 5 for this second installment

This is the second book in the crossfire series. It adds on right  where the first one left off. With expensive gifts, romantic getaways, and a murder at the end you will surely be anticipatng the 3rd novel. You will probably get mad in some parts and want to throw the book, but you will not be disappointed.

Bared to You by Sylvia Day

5 out of 5 for this erotic novel

If you liked "Fifty Shades of Grey" you will love this book.

It is basically a similar story. A young woman works for sexy Gideon Cross's ( a well off business man) company. When they meet they feel instantly connected. Their love grows stronger and deeper, but they are still haunted by their troubled pasts. Between Ex's and drama this book will keep you wanting more. It is erotic and it tends to make you crave a full on consuming relationship like the one in the book.

Topping from Below by Laura Reese

This erotic novel I give a 3.5 out of 5

WOW! I read this book and it is definitely erotic. I'm not going to lie some of the things in this book are disgusting. The only thing that kept me reading was the story line. It is about a girl who tries to find out how her sister really died. She finds a guy that knew her and ends up in a sick twisted relationship. If you dare to read this you will be suprised by who the real killer was. But again this book contains very explicit details.

Blue is for Nightmares Series by Laurie Faria Stolarz

I give this series a 3.5 out of 5

This series overall is good! Stacey is a witch that uses her spells in order to see how to save the ones she loves. She dives deep into their dreams to reveal hints about the danger. Each color in the books resembles something very important and with her friends help they are able to save many people. There is love in this book and friendships and that last forever.

Sliding into Home by Kendra Wilkinson

Kendra gets a 4 out of 5 from me.

Kendra's biography was actually quite interesting. It gave details of her troubled childhood and her drug addiction. It also revealed some playboy secrets that were shocking. I found it to be a really great read. Anyone who wants to know more about her background should read it!

Strange Angels/ Betrayals by Lili St. Crow

First two books in the series get a 4.5 out 5 from me

These books suck you in from the beginning. When Dru's father is killed and the evil comes looking for her she is forced to use her powers to hunt down ghosts, vampires, wulfen, and zombies. When she goes into hiding she finds herself stuck with Graves the cute boy from school. Together they face many obstacles and team up with Christophe (Sexy Vampire). The two boys do not trust one another, but both want to protect Dru. When Christophe leads them to a school for wulfen and djamphir they are forced to start questioning if this place is a safe house or not.

I will be reading the next books in this series <3

Providence by Jamie McGuire

Another 5 out of 5 for Jamie McGuire

The book starts with Nina's father dying and her meeting Jared Ryel at the bus stop... Little does she know he has been watching her for years and planned the meeting. When Jared starts showing up in places of danger she realizes that he knows more about her then she thought. As she searches for the truth behind her fathers death she finds the one thing her fathers associates are looking for. Secrets are revealed and their relationship goes through ups and downs. Will someone come between them? Read to find out!

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

No doubt about it this book is 5 out of 5.

If you love a good girl getting mixed up with a bad boy then you have to read this! Abby goes to college with her best friend and her life goes from calm to messed up in no time. She meets sexy, cut Travis Maddox and becomes completely consumed in his bad boy world. Travis earns money fighting in an underground fight club and has every girl drooling over him. When him and Abby's life intertwines they make a bet where if Abby loses she has to live with him for a month or if he wins he has to stay abstinent for a month. The outcome of the bet leads to a messed up relationship with tons of suspense and passion. They expose their secrets to one another and start the journey of a beautiful disaster.

April & Oliver by Tess Callahan

The romance in this 5 out of 5 is breathtaking.

The story line in this book was beautifully written. It is about a young man and woman who grew up as best friends their whole life. As life takes them down different paths they are brought together by the death of April's brother. There are instantly sparks and they begin to wonder if they are meant to be together. Oliver's perfect life (fiance, law school) starts to fall apart as he tries to protect April from her sorrow. They both learn secrets about one another that leads to a shocking ending. Must Read!

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

This 5 out of 5 reminded me of twilight.

It is about a young girl and an angel who are assigned  to be lab partners. She can't understand why he knows so much about her thoughts and begins to question if he is safe or dangerous. Wrapped in the war between  the fallen she finds herself having to choose... Will her choice be good or cost her her life? The whole series is great and the romance involved is addicting.

Walk of the Spirits by Richie Tankersley Cusick

If you are looking for a historical paranormal read I recommend this 4 out 5.

It starts when a young girl is forced to move to small town St. Yvette, Louisiana. She is torn from everything she knows and is thrown into a group project that turns her life upside down. Her mother has kept her from her grandfather her whole life and she finally knows why. While struggling with seeing dead people and experiencing things they have, her new friends search for the answer.  This book has romance and suspense... Definitely worth reading!
